How do you describe yourself?
I write a column for Vogue.com called “Breathless.” I’m the founder and primary author of Slutever.com, the perfect website for anyone interested in stuff like orgy advice, where to find the world’s most glamorous sex dungeons, or blow-job tips straight from a porn star. I’ve also made short films, a documentary web series, and am currently making my first feature film.
What excites you, speaks to you, turns you on—creatively, in life, romantically?
I have a massive hard-on for Joan Didion, guacamole, everything Diana Vreeland’s ever said, lying down, Antonioni films, Monica Vitti, movies about unhappy rich people, Harper’s, religious iconography, the social and sexual ethics of Gore Vidal, mohair clothing, Richard Prince, Escada power suits, David Sedaris, oversharing, Camille Paglia (on her sane days).
What change would you most like to see in the world?
Gender equality, equal pay for women, more female CEOs, more female film directors, more movies starring women made by Hollywood, etcetera.
