Do You Want to Be Famous?
The next gen of downtown performers make their red carpet debut.

EVIE STONE
How do you get attention? Oh please!
Do you want to be famous? Yeah and I think I should be.
Do you have any trademark phrases? Not particularly. I have more of a trademark tone.
How do you get into character? Transcendental meditation and aspirin.
How do you decide what parts of your life are for the internet and what parts are just for you? My brain is for the internet, my relationships are for me, and my body is for the silver screen.
What’s the most Hollywood thing about you? I’ve never met a director I didn’t like.
What kind of person are you at parties? Either absolutely petrified or dancing my ass off, but come say hi and I’ll give it my best shot!
When do you feel the most like yourself? I can’t believe I’m saying this but when I’m at the beach!
What’s your dream role? I have three: the next Bond girl, Joan of Arc, Aeon Flux.
What are you currently striving for? I need a fucking agent already. Hellooo?! Anybody out there?!!

LAUREN SERVIDEO
Do you want to be famous? What the hell, sure.
What’s the strangest compliment you’ve ever received? “You have a beautiful Pittsburgh accent.”
Do you have any trademark phrases? “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.”
How do you get into character? They get into me, usually during sleep or daydream (when the veil is thin).
How do you decide what parts of your life are for the internet and what parts are just for you? Sometimes I decide things that weren’t even my life are for the internet (i.e., I lie). For example, I might post a story saying, “Having the crab cakes at Indochine! Yummm!” Meanwhile, I’ve never been.
How do you know when something you’ve made is good? I think good is hard to define, but if we held back laughter while filming, that’s generally a positive sign.
What’s the most Hollywood thing about you? That I don’t really do anything live. Hollywood is all about the camera, right?
What’s something about New York that still surprises you? Everything surprises me! New York will zap you with a hubris lightning bolt if you think you’ve seen it all.
When do you feel the most like yourself? When I’m someone else #characteractress.
What’s your dream role? Playing Chyna in her biopic, any part in a Tim Robinson production, Lee in a gender-swapped Manchester by the Sea.
What are you currently striving for? A better, brighter tomorrow. And more auditions.

MARTINE GUTIERREZ
How do you get attention? I put on lipstick.
Do you want to be famous? I want to be in love, it lasts longer.
What’s the strangest compliment you’ve ever received? When I sleep, I breathe so softly that I’ve been mistaken for dead.
How do you get into character? I got bangs to play Vanesja.
What’s the last thing you did that scared you? Airport sushi.
How do you decide what parts of your life are for the internet and what parts are just for you? If you find me on the internet it’s more than likely a catfish.
How do you know when something you’ve made is good? People laugh or they don’t.
What kind of person are you at parties? I’m dancing with you and/or alone.
What’s your dream role? To play a wild woman like Jodie Foster in Nell.
What are you currently striving for? Perfection, but I promised myself I’d stop.
———
JOE APOLLONIO
What’s the strangest compliment you’ve ever received? That I look like Michael Cera meets Lisa Rinna.
How do you get into character? I try to focus on the character’s physicality. If I get into my body I don’t think as much. And if I don’t think as much I’m a better performer.
What’s the last thing you did that scared you? I saw my dad’s side of the family for the first time in 20 years this past summer. My cousins are fucking hot.
What’s the most Hollywood thing about you? One time I was picked up in a Rolls-Royce and got a hand job while driving on the PCH. It’s either that or my hair.
What kind of person are you at parties? Either I can’t shut up or I’m in the corner avoiding small talk. I don’t stay long either way.
What’s something about New York that still surprises you? How beautiful it looks during the holiday season. There’s a real innocence to it.
When do you feel the most like yourself? When I’m in the shower.
What’s your dream role? I would love to play a man who works in tech and has children. Or Romeo Montague.
What are you currently striving for? Healthy relationships and intrinsic self-worth. I’ve been also trying to grow sideburns but they’re too patchy and fucked-up looking. I’m kinda over it.

RUBY MCCOLLISTER
How do you get attention? I have huge hair and I’m an only child.
Do you want to be famous? Hasn’t fame officially become gauche in 2025? That being said, it’s insane I’m not more famous.
What’s the strangest compliment you’ve ever received? “You remind me of my mother.”
Do you have any trademark phrases? “She was silent as a pepper.”
How do you get into character? I hope for the best!
What’s the last thing you did that scared you? I saved my mother’s life from a septic seizure. Try that on for size boys!
How do you know when something you’ve made is good? When my mom says, “That’s funny.”
What’s the most Hollywood thing about you? (a) I’m a fourth-generation Angeleno. (b) Everything about me is Hollywood. (c) In the wake of the L.A. fire, what should be remembered is that “Hollywood” at its core is about making do. We could all use a little less luxury and a little more glamour.
What’s something about New York that still surprises you? That big beautiful Empire State Building!
When do you feel the most like yourself? Onstage.
What’s your dream role? George Washington.
———
KAREEM RAHMA
How do you get attention? I walk funny and talk loud.
Do you want to be famous? Of course, but only the cool kind of fame, like Jim Jarmusch has.
How do you get into character? I’m pretty much always just some version of myself, so I don’t really get into character. But when the cameras are on, I have tunnel vision and don’t see them at all.
What’s the last thing you did that scared you? Performing music live for the first time was scary. That was in March 2023. I’d never done live music before, so jumping in at, like, age 37 was kinda weird.
How do you know when something you’ve made is good? First, I have to like it and feel creatively satisfied by it. And then, I need other people to like it, and I also need a few people to dislike it. If everyone likes it, that means it’s probably mid.
What’s the most Hollywood thing about you? I wear sunglasses often.
What kind of person are you at parties? I’m a wallflower. If someone approaches me I’ll chat for a bit, but I usually stay around my friends.
What’s something about New York that still surprises you? That people somehow manage to live here even though it costs so much fucking money.
What’s your dream role? I kinda fuck with John C. Reilly’s career. Or Adam Sandler’s career. I want to oscillate between funny roles and serious ones. Lately, I’ve really wanted to play the role of a piece of shit, like Howard Ratner.
What are you currently striving for? I want a TV show or to be cast in a huge movie.

JORDAN COLEY

Jacket and Pants Valentino. Shirt Moschino. Tie, Pocket Square, and Shoes Celine Homme by Hedi Slimane. Brooch Loro Piana.
Do you want to be famous? Yes, only in so far as it will allow me to live comfortably and afford me the capital to make the stuff I want to make. But not so famous that me and my secret second family can’t have our privacy.
How do you get into character? In Jordan Show, the monthly live show that I do, I perform as a kind of vain, slightly deluded late-night talk show host. To get into character, I’ve developed a poorly hidden drinking problem.
What’s the last thing you did that scared you? Acting in my friend Savannah’s play last summer.
How do you decide what parts of your life are for the internet and what parts are just for you? The soft, sweet parts are for the internet. The crunchy, savory parts are for me.
How do you know when something you’ve made is good? When I text it to my mom on WhatsApp and she replies, “ok.”
What’s the most Hollywood thing about you? I have a history of poor boundary-setting in professional environments and have been known to emotionally abuse my subordinates. I also follow a strict macrobiotic diet.
What kind of person are you at parties? The crazy kind.
What’s something about New York that still surprises you? Did you know that Harry Nilsson is from Bed-Stuy?
When do you feel the most like yourself? Sweatpants. Hair tied. Chillin’. No makeup.
What’s your dream role? I feel I’m destined to play famed Los Angeles musician, media personality, and entrepreneur William “Ray J” Norwood Jr. in a Ryan Murphy–produced limited series depicting the rise of the Kardashians.

What’s the strangest compliment you’ve ever received? Hi, Mr. Perfect!
Do you have any trademark phrases? So expensive! OMG he’s hot! My husband.
How do you decide what parts of your life are for the internet and what parts are just for you? When I have wifi I will post on the internet!
How do you know when something you’ve made is good? The room gets quiet and the jaws drop.
What’s the most Hollywood thing about you? When I play my ornate pink flute onstage.
What’s something about New York that still surprises you? OMG? There’s hot guys everywhere.
When do you feel the most like yourself? After I remove my makeup.
