Salma Hayek
A smoky eye like no other, this look combines three Old Hollywood staples—dark eyes, red lips, and the updo—all with a modern twist, of course.
Natasha Poly
While this look is nowhere near old Hollywood—perhaps closer to Hollywood Blvd.—it's seriously breathtaking. Those are some wildly fantastical feline eyes (note the pop of green on the upper lids). And the messy side braid is so on-trend. This entire look seems more suited for an editorial spread than a Riviera event, but we're loving the imagination nonetheless.
Milla Jovovich
A summery, pinky-red pout, coupled with a kohl-rimmed eye and that fantastic hair broach, makes this look red-carpet and Riviera-approved.
Kirsten Dunst
No hipster here, even Kirsten took to the brush and blow-dryer for a week of great styles—from her fashion ensembles to her hairdos. This polished, no-makeup-makeup look and elaborate floral headband are fab.
Jessica Chastain
The epitome of the old Hollywood starlet with her exaggerated side part, loose curls, and crimson lips. French perfection.
Jennifer Connelly
Jennifer often channels the great starlets of Hollywood's golden years, and with a classic red lip, sultry, shimmering eyes, and brows to kill for, and this look is no exception. Even the updo suits her. Classy with a capital C.
Freida Pinto
While this look overall isn't our favorite, I am quite keen on the metallic liner on the lower lash line, one of the spring trends we love most. Freida's stunning, but that hair belongs back in Texas, y'all.
Diane Kruger
This lovely blue one-shoulder confection, which emphasizes the blue in her eyes, gives her that young Grace Kelly vibe. A light, smoky gold eye paired with a nude lip and that impossibly chic updo make Diane our personal choice for best face of Cannes 2012.
Diane Kruger
Possibly the reigning queen of this year's Cannes glam, Diane looked phenomenal in every outfit and face she dared to share.
Naomi Watts
A more subtle rendition of the Hollywood "reds," but her stained burgundy lips lend themselves perfectly to the rosy cheeks and batty-lashed eyes. For those extra watts of glam (hey-o!), Naomi chose a finger-curled updo. Very silent-movie-star chic.
