Casting Call: Fatal Attraction

Dan Gallagher is a successful attorney living in Manhattan with his wife and daughter who begins what he considers a casual fling with a publishing executive Alex. Unfortunately for Dan, Alex has a different idea about their relationship and begins to stalk him. He tries to hide the truth from his wife Beth, but when Alex's obsession escalates, he has no choice but to disclose his infidelity. For this philanderer, we nominate Patrick Dempsey, whose 11-year stint as Doctor Derek Shepherd (McDreamy) on Grey's Anatomy has finally come to an end.

Originally played by Anne Archer, Beth Gallagher is a doting wife and mother who is perfectly content with her life until her husband ruins everything. We'd like Revenge's Emily Van Camp to take over the role in the new television series.

Although Alex Forrest has a flourishing career as a publishing agent; she is clearly suffering from severe emotional and psychological distress. This becomes particularly evident when Alex falls in love with Dan after spending a single weekend with him, and claims she is pregnant with his child. For this truly challenging role, we nominate the very talented Olivia Munn (The Newsroom).

Beth and Dan's intelligent and beloved daughter Ellen Gallagher plays a pivotal role in Alex's scheme for revenge. We think Emily Alyn Lind, who portrayed a younger version of Van Camp's character in Revenge, could be a great fit.

Dan's secretary Martha is nosy but trustworthy. She helps Dan dodge Alex's numerous phone calls. Martha has a cheeky side to her, and we think Lea Thompson (Back to the Future) would be great in the role. Like Jimmy, Martha has fewer scenes than we'd like, but we hope that changes in the TV event.

Jimmy is Dan's best friend and colleague. When Dan confides in Jimmy about the affair and Alex's nature, Jimmy agrees to help him. While Jimmy is a pretty minor character in the film, we hope that the television series will expand the role into something meatier and more humorous role. We nominate West Wing alum Bradley Whitford.
