Casting Call: The Entity

A James Wan favorite, Patrick Wilson has had his fair share of horror movie action, so who better to cast as Jerry Anderson, Carla's boyfriend? When Jerry visits Carla one night, he witnesses an attack by her poltergeist, and falls victim to her son Billy.

Carla and Billy, her son from teenage pregnancy, have an oddly intimate relationship. Billy comes to Carla's rescue as she is attacked by her poltergeist, but Billy believes that Jerry is the real assailant and attacks him instead. Years after the original film, it was revealed that the director may have left out an aspect of the plot that suggests Carla and Billy's relationship was more than that of mother and son. Will James Wan include that aspect of the film? Regardless, Jamie Campbell Bower seems to be the perfect fit.

Upon being attacked, Carla and her children finds refuge with her good friend Cindy Nash, who recommends Dr. Schniederman. After watching her play an eccentric mom and questionable advice-giver in Love Is In The Air, we nominate Sophie-Charlotte Husson.

When Carla claims to be sexually assaulted by a poltergeist, her psychologist, Dr. Phil Schniederman assures her it is a mental manifestation triggered by various childhood traumas. Despite multiple clues that suggest the opposite, Dr. Schniederman refuses to believe Carla—that is, until he is forced to face the poltergeist himself. We 'd like the stoic, smart, and full-eyebrowed Peter Gallagher to bring his authoritative presence to the role.

Carla Moran, single mother of two kids, is the unlikely victim of a poltergeist attack. After several violent paranormal encounters, she seeks help, first from her psychologist and then from parapsychologists. Based on her performances in World War Z and The Killing, we nominate Canadian actress Mirielle Enos to star in our version of The Entity.

As Carla begins to lose hope, she seeks the help of parapsychologists. They then set up an elaborate experiment, complete with a mock-up of the house and a liquid helium trap. We think Johnny Galecki, a super scientist of The Big Bang Theory, would be a convincing fit.
