From Hunger Games to American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence has proven that nothing is a stretch for Hollywood's most-talked-about actress. It is rumored that she has already been offered the lead role of Audrey Mester, and we are certain that she can master the delicate mix of vulnerability and ambition.

Mexican actor Diego Luna had his breakthrough role 14 years ago in the Sundance hit Y Tu Mamá También. We'd love to see him take on the role of Francisco ‘Pipin' Ferreras. Though he's boyishly handsome, his daring stare suggests something a little more sinister.

Both of Mestre's parents were scuba-diving enthusiasts who raised their daughter in a small suburb north of Paris. We nominate French actress Isabelle Huppert to play Audrey Mestre's mother, Ms. Mestre. After her successful performance as Eleanor's tough-loving mother in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, we are craving more of her raspy, unapologetically French accent. 

Everybody remembers Andy Garcia from The Godfather: Part II and The Untouchables, and we believe iconic actors like Garcia make for the best father figures. We'd cast him as Pipin's father, Mr. Ferreras.

After her stunning performance in Gone Girl, we'd like to suggest Rosamund Pike for the role of Tanya Streeter, the English diver whose record Mestre was trying to beat when she died. With her intimidating beauty and unwavering grace, she would make the perfect competitor.  

Carlos Serra was a partner of Ferreras in the International Association of Free Divers, and helped to organize Mestre's record-breaking dive attempt. Later, he would write a book that blamed Ferreras for purposefully sending his wife into an ill-equipped situation. Santiago Cabrera, best known for his role as Isaac Mednez from Heroes, has just enough of that good-guy charm to keep us believing he was on Mestre's side.
