Fashion Show Beauty: Make-Up Inspiration

SHOW: Cynthia Rowley

ARTIST: Lottie for Make Up For Ever

INSPIRATION: The look was very clean, cool and sporty, with hints of sweat and glowing skin. It was slightly masculine, so the makeup featured a strong brow and bare lips.

SHOW: Derek Lam

ARTIST: Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux for Estée Lauder

INSPIRATION: "The makeup complements the fashion with a very dreamy, warm look of fresh skin, shimmering eyes with muted yellow shadow highlighted by coppers and greens, lightly bronzed contoured cheeks and a sheer golden lip."

SHOW: Jason Wu

ARTIST: Diane Kendal for MAC

INSPIRATION: "'50s and '90s pop art, inspired by the artist KAWS."

SHOW: Jenny Packham

ARTIST: Talia Shobrook for Laura Mercier

INSPIRATION: The makeup look is a modern take on the glamorous 1970s, inspired by Jerry Hall and the lyrics from the Rolling Stones song about her, "She's a Rainbow": "Have you seen her all in gold / Like a queen in days of old / She shoots colors all around / Like a sunset going down."

SHOW: Luca Luca

ARTIST: Gucci Westman for Revlon

INSPIRATION: "I was inspired by the designer's color palette and chose shades and textures that would bring out the essence of the entire collection. It reminded me of the sophistication of an Italian Vogue story I'd seen with girls that looked very luxurious, young and polished.  The slightly transparent yet glossy purple eye works beautifully with the lip. It's glamorous, yet approachable."

SHOW: Mandy Coon

ARTIST: Francelle, NARS National Makeup Artist

INSPIRATION: "It's girly because of the eye color, but it's tough since there's no eyeliner. The skin is dewy for a really whimsical, effortless affect. I also took a cue from Mark Rothko's color-blocking and created a modern version on the eye with purple and pink.

"This collection is a graduation, of sorts, for me. I was inspired by these rocks and crystals that I've loved since I was a child—the texture, the metallics. There is something so cool, and tough, about them, but then the pleats in the collection add a touch of femininity." —designer Mandy Coon.

SHOW: Prabal Gurung

ARTIST: Charlotte Tilbury for MAC

INSPIRATION: "The art of Araki... the lip is an orchid bursting from within."

SHOW: Thakoon

ARTIST: Diane Kendal for NARS Cosmetics

INSPIRATION: "Because the collection is so colorful, I wanted to focus on a classic, strong brow. I kept the face natural, with a little pink on the cheek for healthy color. On the eyes, I focused on contouring to show strength and attitude, a cowboy attitude that is.

"It's the ideal of the iconic American cowboy gone multicultural. The color story came from India, inspired by the spice market—but with a cowboy flair." —designer Thakoon Panichgul
