The Met Ball's Best and Worst-Tressed

BEST: Lily Aldridge

As far as models go, Gisele will always take the cake as hottest Met Ball attendee. But this year, we've got to give props to Lily, fiancée of Kings of Leon's Caleb Followill. Loving the ombré hair color (dark roots, light tips). The exaggerated side part is very femme fatale. And her makeup, though in muted hues, has an essence of gold which complement both her skin and her dress beautifully. She looks perfectly put-together without making it look like it took effort. A model's ease!

WORST: Leighton Meester

We love a cat eye just as much as the next person, but with her hair so tightly pulled back, this entire look feels a little too geisha. We're not completely mad at it, but it's not a home run. We would have much preferred to see her hair down—perhaps some loose curls—with the cat eye, as an extension of the bondage-inspired dress.

BEST: Madonna

Girl has got it going on! We know we said no dress talk, but this Stella McCartney is a vision (check out the train, complete with embroidered stars—phenom!). Adoring her red lips and side-parted, retro curls. Very Hollywood glam.

BEST: Renée Zellweger's backside

Let's start with the hair: a beautiful chignon, indeed. A bit messy, yet still sophisticated. They don't get much better than this. But the plummeting back of this Carolina Herrera gown really accentuates Renee's finest feature—a perfectly smooth and toned back!

WORST: Amy Poehler

Eek, Amy, keep your fingers away from the electrical socket! Besides the fact that her hair looks like it caught the current of electricity, that makeup is overdone. The eye is too smoky, with too much color in the crease and fanning out.

BEST: Diane Kruger

Red lips, side-parted, glam curls, a lightly gilded smoky eye: red-carpet perfection. She looks like a true movie star, with some Old Hollywood thrown in for good measure.

WORST: Emma Stone

Whoa, hair! What's going on with that updo—more like a do-over! And, as we well know, hot pink is the it color of the moment, but with the hair and the printed dress, the fluorescent pink lip is overkill. And her skin is so pale it's practically see-through. But, hey, she's super funny, and humor will get you very far!

BEST: Michelle Williams

This is a very gilded look, but this month's cover star pulls it off fabulously. From the blonde hair, to the bronzed eyes, to the nude lip, to the golden skin (notice how she isn't as pale as parties past?), Michelle is looking like quite the golden girl.

WORST: Sarah Jessica Parker

This updo, and the copious amount of makeup applied to SJP's face, really age the ultimate city girl. And those highlights in the front of her hair are so misplaced, they literally hurt our eyes. P.S. There's something about this combover hair style that reminds us of The Donald. Are we the only one who sees it?
