Braids for the Holidays

Make a middle part with two big braids, one on each side. Stop the braids at the nape of the neck and rubberband like pigtails. Twist remaining hair around the braids to turn into a messy bun. Secure the ends with bobby pins.

The quickest way to achieve this look is to get a ponytail extension piece that matches your color. I like the clip-ons by Ken Paves and Kim Kimbles. Braid the extension and secure like a headband using bobby pins. Then, pull out random pieces of hair to make it look messy and modern.

Take random sections from a middle or side part and make four or five  small braids. Braids should be about five or six inches long. Secure with a small rubberband

Braid bangs loosely and secure at the end. Then, pull all your hair, including the braid, into a low ponytail.

A great trick for those growing out bangs. Braid bangs and secure under your hair with a bobby pin. (It's best to put a gel or wax in the hair first to make sure no pieces that stick out.) Because
the braid needs to be tight, it's a good idea to have a friend help you braid.
