Rain and wind did not deter the host of stars and luminaries who came out for the Tribeca Film Institute's annual benefit. The evening began at the Ziegfeld Theater with a special screening of Garry Marshall's new film, New Year's Eve, the second installment in what appears to be an emergent (and befuddling) series of everything-but-the-kitchen-starlet holiday features. Bank accounts padded, members of the cast, including Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, and Zac Efron, crossed the street to the Hilton for a stand-up-sit-down buffet supper with guests. The setting was a touch bar mitzvah, a statement which, having already mentioned the venue, may very well be redundant. Michael Bloomberg, who took a cameo turn in the movie, dropped in and chatted with De Niro amidst a flurry of flash and frenzy, and Seth Meyers, Nicole Miller, Giancarlo Esposito, and Maggie Betts were among those tucking into food and wine with the cast and crew. Vintage Michael Jackson dominated the playlist by evening's end, a fact which seemed to please a sparkle-frocked Breslin, who took to the center parquet with friends.
