Last night, New York's Aussies and friends gathered at the Museum of Modern Art for a special screening of The Eye of the Storm starring Geoffrey Rush and Charlotte Rampling. Based on Nobel Prize winner Patrick White's novel, the film centers around the deathbed of Mrs. Elizabeth Hunter in a Sydney suburb.
After the film, the guests moved to Forty Four at Royalton. Among the guests were: Meryl Streep and Don Gummer, the Australian Consul General Phillip H. Scanlan, director Fred Schepisi, Julie Taymor, writter Judy Morris, and Geoffrey Rush.
