Ben Stiller, Mike Nichols, Milos Forman, Judah Friedlander, Liv Tyler, and Courtney Love were among those who came out for a special sneak screening of the new Millenium Entertainment film "Rampart," writer-director Oren Moverman's take on the infamous 90s-era LAPD. The movie is led by Woody Harrelson, and also features Stella Schnabel, Ben Foster, Sigourney Weaver, and Steve Buscemi. After the Sunshine Cinemas screening, the cast joined hostess Peggy Siegal and fellow notables and movie aficionados for drinks and dinner under the glass chandeliers of Imperial No. Nine. The mood was relaxed and cheerful: strangers and stars broke bread at long-tables, a guest delighted Liv Tyler with a card trick (our draw was a five of clubs), Woody Harrelson and pal Billy Crudup laughed over beers, and, at half past one, a special-someone-anonymous lifted a flute to celebrate his birthday—new friends cheered. Many returns, whoever you are.
