We've been waiting a while, but better late than never. Opening Ceremony (no, not for the Olympics) has finally hit London with a pop-up store located in the city's latest fashion postcode of Covent Garden.
The store itself is classic OC, where the coolest international brands sit along side each other, all carefully curated by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim and mananaged by Dot (the sister of UK Vogue's Fashion Editor, Fran Burns).
Inspired by the inherent street style of the city, it was a natural progression to open a store in London, especially with so many exsisting fans such as Josephine de la Baume, Alexa Chung and MIA based in the city.
To celebrate the launch, an all American party was thrown, of course, at Madame Jojo's in the sexy district of Soho. As all good fashion parties should do, this one started late and ended in the early hours. The East London crowd relocated to Central London for a night of drinking, dancing, and a bit of posing. Designers, hipsters and musicians mingled whilst making the most of the open bar. The fashion pack included Cara Delavigne, JW Anderson, Susie Bubble, Julia Sarr-Jamois and Kyle Hopkins.
The music was a mix of hype dub, new acid house, and some classic r 'n b anthems for good American meaure. DJs Physical Therapy and Michael Magnan were on the decks, with live performances by Maluca and Mykki Blanco.—Felicity Carter
