The opening for Nicolas Pol's The Martus Maw, presented by Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, looked like Manchester's Hacienda club had been taken over by the European cool set—which is, it should be said, much more fun than the WASPy set! Stavros Niarchos, who's recently become closely inbvolved with RVCA, has been friends with the artist for six years. He brought with him dealer Andy Vamorbida, who has more looks than I do! I can never recognize him; tonight he was channeling Axl Rose.
Everyone stayed and hung out before moving to Indochine for dinner, where Carine Roitfeld, mother of the curator among other achievements, let me snap a photo. She liked it so much she asked me to send it her way! (We'll do it one better—we'll put her on the Interview home page! Everyone had a great time, even Erin Wasson, who had to leave early to walk her dog.—Fabiola Beracasa
