Urs Fischer was the first artist to occupy the entirety of the new-ish, SANAA designed New Museum building. And unlike the surveys that have preceded his show, Fischer didn't feel the responsibility to fill the entire space, instead secreting his funny, Surreal sculpture into the niches, and suspending them from the floor and altering the paint and the lighting. He did fill the space with friends, although Fischer didn't make it himself—until the after party much, much laters.
