Lil Wayne Celebrates His TRUKFIT Clothing Line at El Privado

Last night, Interview's April cover star, Lil Wayne, debuted his new clothing collection, TRUKFIT, to buyers and press with a private party at El Privado at Hotel Americano in Chelsea. TRUKFIT (an acronym for The Reason You Kill For It, for the curious) deals—for now—exclusively in T-shirts and fitted caps, but if it's as successful among fans of both Wayne and skating as we're sure it will be, we're not counting out an expansion down the line. Those in attendance last night—including Young Money's T-Streets, Lil Twist (who turned 19 on Wednesday), Mack Maine, and Gudda Gudda—certainly seemed to like it.

"I wear Supreme; I've been to the Supreme store in LA," Wayne said, asked about his fashion influences. "They've got a bowl in there, so you can actually skate in the bowl at Supreme. That's the coolest thing about it." Last night, he cut quite a figure in his own bright-pink TRUKFIT shirt and fitted cap (with embroidery: "Sorry I'm Fresh" / "And You're Not" on the front and back, respectively), along with a pair of Terence Koh x Opening Ceremony white moon boots. He also informed us that while he hasn't yet started work on Tha Carter V, he's started working on I Am Not a Human Being II. We can't wait.

Twentysomething guys, painted head-to-toe in silver, modeled the looks. We were too timid to ask who did the painting, but did talk to a model about his exit strategy. "They said it would wash off in the shower," he said, sounding confident, but added that first, he had to take the subway home.
