Rachel Weisz Discovers Another Cover-Up

In 2005, Rachel Weisz won an Academy Award for her performance in The Constant Gardner, in which she played a concerned humanitarian attempting to investigate a drug company-backed conspiracy in Africa. The Whistleblower, the trailer (above) for which was released today, features the British actress in a similar role: that of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Midwestern cop-turned-peacekeeper who, in 1999, discovered a U.N. cover-up of sex-trafficking and prostitution rings in Bosnia. Directed by Larysa Kondracki, The Whistleblower also stars Monica Bellucci and Vanessa Redgrave. A fellow American's response to Bolkovac's revelation that "Something fucked up is going on" ("Honey, this is Bosnia: These people specialize in fucked up.") should give the viewer and idea of what she'll be up against when the film is released at the end of this year.
