The 2012 Oscars are fast upon us! Among the Best Actor hopefuls is George Clooney, nominated for his role in The Descendants—his third Best Actor nomination. When we interviewed Clooney for our October 2005 issue, he talked a little bit about the responsabilities of an actor:


"I've been in some very violent films over the years, so I have to sort of say, "Well, I've participated in part of that." But at least movies are voluntary: you buy a ticket, you go into a theater, and it's not part of the news program that's sold to some advertiser. But I do have a responsibility, and I have to sort of take that in and say, "I'm going to try and do better."
