Casting Call: Steve Jobs

Steven Gadzinski

In which we suggest who should star in the next big adaptation, remake, or historical film.

It was really only a matter of time before a Steve Jobs biopic was in the works. With the recent release of Walter Isaacson's authorized biography of the Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, and talks of Aaron Sorkin penning a screenplay based on the bio for Sony Pictures, there's one question now being beamed from iPhone to iPhone: "But who will play Steve Jobs?" It's a question Hollywood will have to answer pretty soon: some reports are suggesting filming on a competing, independent project might begin as early as January 2012. (We hope they come out the same weekend: the Thursday Trailer Face-Off writes itself!)

The meat of Isaacson's biography deals, naturally, with Jobs' life during and after the creation of Apple, so our dream cast spans the three and a half decades between 1976, when Jobs founded the company with Steve Wozniak, and this year, when he unfortunately succumbed to pancreatic cancer.
