Marc Jacobs also drew inspiration from Marie Antoinette for his fashion week presentation, or at least artist/this show's set designer Rachel Feinstein did. In an eerie paper palace, Jacobs' presented exaggerated, Mad Hatter-hats, buckled pilgrim shoes, and brocade and appliqué dresses with full-hipped skirts—perhaps the only aspect of Jacobs clothes that was overtly Marie Antoinette. It takes a brave woman to embrace a panniere-inspired silhouette, but then bravery is always much easier when one is wearing Marc Jacobs
