“I’m inspired by every book I read, every person I meet,” says Julia Banas. The 20-year-old Polish student began her modeling career three years ago after a scout visited her school. By the time she made her runway debut as an exclusive at Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2016 show, she had already been featured in campaigns for Gucci, All Saints, and Emporio Armani. “I want to be myself and feel good about this,” she adds.
THE PERSON I ADMIRE THE MOST:
My mum: she raised two daughters. Mothers are real heroes.
AN EVENT I WISHED I’D WITNESSED:
A Doors concert.
QUESTIONS I CAN’T ANSWER:
What do you want to eat? What do you want to drink? Where do you want to go?
MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT:
I followed my dreams and moved to New York.
THINGS I’D LIKE TO IMPROVE ABOUT MYSELF:
I would like to be more organized. I don’t like wasting my time, but I still do it often.
GAMES I PLAY:
I don’t play games. I used to play volleyball when I was younger.
MY GREATEST VICE:
I am addicted to my phone (aren’t we all?) and check my Instagram too many times per day.
THINGS I’LL BE REMEMBERED BY:
The people I love, the moments captured by my Polaroid, songs played while driving.
SOME THINGS I’D RATHER FORGET:
Delayed flights, arguments with nonsense.
MY IDEA OF HAPPINESS:
Traveling as much as I can and then chilling in-between in my own house and garden in the middle of nowhere with books, vinyls, and friends.
ONE LAST FAVOR I’D LIKE TO ASK:
“Just be with me, I don’t want to be alone.”
