Haircast: 2010

2010 is well underway and, while makeup is big, hair is soft. Maureen McCarthy, Master Associate Stylist for Paul Mitchell, predicts the trends for the next twelve months. (LEFT: RACHEL MCADAMS AT GERMANY'S SHERLOCK HOLMES PREMIERE)

"Forecasting trends is always fashion forward, so the best why to get inspired is by the European fashion shows," says Maureen.  "They are on the calendar prior to the US, so you can get sneak peak at what's in for the next season. I can't believe I'm saying this, but bangs are back. All the clients that have been growing out their bangs are now flirting with the idea of bringing them back. It's the easiest way to get the biggest change this year. We'll also see a lot of texture, no matter what the hair length." In terms of red carpet hair, Maureen predicts, "Flowy, soft looks are here to stay, and hair with movement is very sexy. To achieve a sexier, wavy texture on even the straightest of hair, I recommend Paul Mitchell Re-Works."
