Go-Go Boots and Micro Minis at Giambattista

Giambattista Valli presented an array of Mod Squad floral mini-dresses and pantsuits for his Spring 2016 collection. Guipure lace showed up in ’60s-style micro-minis, and ran down the sides of slim sheath dresses. The color palette, meanwhile—orange sorbet, mauve, and eggplant—offered a vintage feel that never felt dated. In the place of typical patent leather go-go boots were the new gladiator sandals with the slightest platforms in glittering silver. Model du jour Gigi Hadid closed out the show in a stunning empire waist gown with crystal embroidered bralette, but the true sartorial highlights were a pair of 3-D floral embroidered baby doll dresses and skirts fit for a modern day Sally Draper or Edie Sedgwick.
