First Dibs: Sharon Wauchob Pre-Fall 2014 Look 19

Grunge, whether refracted through Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent Paris or in Marc Jacob’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection, happens to be back in a big way.  Sharon Wauchob’s pre-fall collection (her first), takes luxe direction from that moment, pairing hefty wools and chunky knits with gossamer sheer lace and delicate slip dresses. It’s a bold, grown up take on the throwback trend and the merging of textures befits any rock-warrior-princess. Take Look 19, pictured above: the oversized, fuzzy, split-sided turtleneck matched with a barely there, intricately worked sheer skirt projects a breezy high-meets-low insouciance that answers, cheekily, the question of how to dress down dressing up.
