• This was the least-attended post-Thanksgiving weekend for box-office sales since 1997. Tangled opened on top with a modest $21.5 million, displacing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, which came in second with $16.7 million. • The European Film Awards were dominated by Roman Polanski's thriller The Ghost Writer, which won six awards, including Best European Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor (for Ewan McGregor). Polanski is still under house arrest, and accepted the awards via Skype. [Vulture]
