Ed Westwick, Ferrari Get Noticed

We all remember the iconic Ferrari joyride (and crash) in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. But not everyone gets the opportunity to take such a car for a spin. This past Saturday, at the third annual Hamptons Rally hosted by car enthusiast Nathaniel Christian in Water Mill, a hundred Ferraris, worth a total of over $100 million, were showcased outdoors. Guests like Ed Westwick took the cars for a cruise during the idyllic afternoon on the East End.

"When you show up in a Ferrari, people notice," said Nathaniel Christian as he lent me his Ferrari California—"the baby grandson of the Ferris Bueller car," as he called it. A New Yorker, I hadn't driven a car in five years, and was intimated to get behind the wheel. But after a few encouraging revs, I felt like a pro as I took the dreamy convertible out for a ride.

After we were treated to a live polo match on the premises, with music was provided by DJ Chelsea Leyland, who has been an on-the-rise fixture at fashion parties lately, and described her style as "high fashion, mixed with '90s grunge, mixed with punk." At this event, however, she left most of her accessories back in the city. "Normally I wear lots of punky jewelry. But today, it's the Hamptons."
