Heels Girls Brave the Rain

In last night's unforgiving downpour, the Salvatore Ferragamo  flagship was a beacon of light—and dry footwear.  At the benefit for the New Yorkers for Children foundation, revelers traded their wilting umbrellas and for heels in all shapes and sizes.  Featuring the new resort collection, wedges and platforms abounded (along with their ever-growing towers of shoeboxes).  On screens throughout the store, classic film scenes featured Ferragamo's muses, including Audrey Hepburn in Charade and Madonna as Evita Peron, evoking the brand's history and timelessness.  Among the party-goers: Maggie Betts, Jackie Macklowe, and Victoria's Secret Angel Selita Ebanks, who all turned out in support of the legendary brand. Ebanks, in a grommeted cocktail dress, summed up her look and the brand succinctly: "Chic—it's all about being able to look like a lady but carrying yourself off with a certain sexiness."  However, the night was truly about shoes, and with the sturm and drang outside it was a much more pleasant experience to remain among the candy-colored heels, flats, mules, and espadrilles. In spite of the variety, Ebanks had only one kind of shoe on her mind. "If you know Selita, you know she's a heel girl!" LEFT: SELITA BANKS. PHOTO: JOE SCHILDHORN/BILLY FARRELL AGENCY
