Interview

Age: 23. Hometown: Los Angeles. I grew up on the Eastside, in Los Feliz. Everyone on the Westside went to these really preppy all-girls schools, but I studied theater at a public arts high school. It was a lot of fun and not a lot of learning. Currently resides: Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I like it, but I’m not trying to live here again. My lease is up in June, so I’m going to move back to the city. Maybe get a studio. Occupation: Aspiring actress. I’m working on one friend’s feature film, acting in another friend’s assignments for film class, and always looking for new projects. Reason for coming to New York: I went toBennington College in Vermont for a bit, but I had the most miserable time there. So I moved to New York to study acting at the William Esper Studio, which is where I am now. I was thinking that I might have to move back to L.A. for my career, but recently I’ve been told that New York is the place to be if you’re a young actor starting out. So that’s kind of exciting to hear. Day job: I’m a cocktail waitress at White Star, on the Lower East Side. I’m basically a barback. I wash dishes, make no money. I also have a paid internship with my godmother, the fashion photographer PamelaHanson. Accidental sartorial innovation: I got into a car accident last August in Maine and had to wear this really attractive back brace for four months. I went to a fashion show, and these photographers were taking pictures of me because they thought it was some sort of statement—my “braciaga.” Summer soundtrack: Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. I’ve been listening to a lot of Fleetwood Mac lately.
