Last Night in Five

Five Thing to know about last night:
1. Adam McEwen showed his graphite flourescents tubes at the undeveloped off-site space occupied by Nicole Klagsbrun at 520 20th Street. They were bigger and more plentiful than the ones he showed in East Hampton this summer, and displayed in a series like Flavins or Judds, except hanging from the ceiling. In the back room there was a graphite black AMEX. McEwen likes graphite because it rubs off on you and disintegrates slowly upon touch, and he's provided replicas of the works for you to handle.

2. At Pin-Up's Studio Job reception, Art in America Editor at Large Cay Sophie Rabinowitz and stylist Haidee Findlay Levin donned dubiously PETA-friendly coats and equally high-impact glasses. Victor Glemaud and Interview's nightlife photographer Hanuk escaped to a lesbian bar on Houston Street; en route, the latter revealed plans to become the prince of all nightlife media. Look out for a profile in a social rag sometime soon.

3. Adam McEwen's after-party was at Billy Mark's West in Chelsea—29th Street, that was too far uptown for us! And at Tom Sachs' dinner nearby, a gracious hostess was pleased to see Michael Stipe making the rounds. She snapped his photo: "Good for business." We think so.

4. At the Journal release party, Stipe revealed that he is working on a blog of his own. The magazine looked good too—look out for Xylor Jane, on newstands near you.

5. Terence Koh loves Fendi, and broke it out at Beatrice. Art Basel's Marc Spiegler and Sam Keller loved it too. (Photo left: Neal Franc)
