The First Dash Snow Mural Tribute
07/16/2009 11:12 AM

Photos by Gillian Mohney
The first (or at least the most public) of many graffiti tributes to Dash Snow is this dedication by Os Gemeos, the Brazilian twins whose psychedleic cartoons replaced the Keith Haring on the corner of Bowery and Houston. We didn't catch it, but the blogs report that we were outed for our interest in the mural, as one tagger's hit the mural already, inciting us to "blog about it." Perhaps we can defend ourselves: We're interested in the way Dash's own legacy, his involvement with graffiti team IRAK crew (as acknowledged by Os Gemeos in their inscription), will be transformed by other illegal inscriptions.
