In anticipation of Art Basel Miami Beach, we asked art world figures of various occupations to share their to-do lists and cosmetics case, and their predictions for an unseasonable market in Miami.
Name: Yvonne Force Villareal
Position: Art Production Fund, Co-Founder
Project at Miami: WOW/Target artist towel launch at the Raleigh and Standard hotels
Number of years attending Miami: ALL of them with the exception of 2003 when I was pregnant
Home city: New York City
One fair you are looking forward to: "IT AINT FAIR" at O.H.W.O.W (Our House West of Wynwood) organized by A-ron Bondaroff, New York's "Downtown Don." Art Production Fund is supporting some of the live performance programming.
One event you cannot miss: A conversation/breakfast that my husband, Leo Villareal is doing with painter Alexander Ross, moderated by Peter Aspden, chief art critic for the Financial Times. for "Investigating Art–the Changing Landscape."
The first thing you will do in Miami: Unpack and then meditate in my room at the Raleigh- to visit the inner calm before the outer storm.
One thing you had to bring: Flats and a bikini and knowing me and Miami during art fair season I wont end up using either
One party you are looking forward to: The Interview party—of course!—in honor of Jeff Koons
Your best Miami memory: The best artwork I ever saw in Miami was 2 years ago—Aaron Young's sand hour glass that filed the entire shipping container. Socially, Mark Fletcher and I used to host the sweetest dinners with Andre Balazs and chef Eric Rupert. Those were magical nights.
Your forecast for Miami: HOT and COLD
